401 Dauphin Street will be Mobile’s only authentic music venue designed with both the performers and the audience in mind.
401 Dauphin doesn’t seek to compete with other local venues but rather to complement them. We seek to compete with regional venues, such as Tipitina’s in New Orleans.
Unlike other venues in Mobile, 401 Dauphin Street will be designed with acoustics and sight lines in mind, to provide both performers and the audience with an exceptional concert experience.
401 Dauphin Street will offer tiered viewing for the audience, allowing them to enjoy a performance in comfort, with unobstructed views.
A Good Neighbor
401 Dauphin Street is committed to being a good neighbor.
401 Dauphin Street’s design and construction will ensure that noise levels will be in full compliance with the City’s noise ordinance. Planned capacity is far less than the Saenger Theater, for example, so there should be no issues with crowds or parking.
401 Dauphin Street will only be in operation for scheduled events; the owners will work to make the space available for community use on a requested basis at a reduced rate or free of charge.
The owners of 401 Dauphin Street are committed to improving downtown Mobile, as demonstrated by their other downtown projects, including the recent purchase of the A&M Peanut Shop.
401 Dauphin Street will have a positive economic impact on downtown Mobile.
The owners intend to book acts that will have a local and regional draw, which should attract visitors who will spend money in downtown Mobile at local restaurants, bars, hotels and retail shops.
Renovation of a long-vacant building into an attractive, vibrant music and events venue will help beautify the area and encourage others to invest in this block on Dauphin Street.
The venue will be aesthetically pleasing and, based on similar venues in other cities, should result in an increase in property values in the immediate vicinity.
